Alan Pulido has criticised the human management of Gabriel Milito during his time as coach of Guadalajara Chivas. The Mexican forward analysed the coaching staff's work in an episode of his podcast 'Puliendo Talentos', contrasting Milito's style with that of Matías Almeyda.

Pulido explained that many coaches focus only on on-field performance and neglect the emotional well-being of the squad. He said Chivas's success under Almeyda depended on affective bonds and fraternity, not only tactics.

"And it happened when I was at Chivas: those who were playing were all happy, but those who weren't, you have them broken to pieces," Pulido stated. "That was missing with Milito, there wasn't a word of encouragement; one, two or three words, I swear to you, they change you."

The former Chivas player concluded that Almeyda's empathy was key to his success and his ability to form a united team. "That's what Almeyda achieves, that's why he has had the success he has had: he formed a great team and a family," Pulido said.

These comments come as Guadalajara Chivas are enjoying a strong sporting moment. The team sits second in Liga MX with 17 points after eight games, just two points behind leaders Toluca.

The Rebaño Sagrado's next challenge is a national classic against Club America, third in the table, on September 20. A win in that match could propel them to the top, a scenario that can be followed in the standings. Pulido, for his part, gave Almeyda, now at Monterrey, one year to win a championship.
