Guadalajara Chivas star Armando González has left the club to join Olympiacos in Greece, but the 22-year-old forward has expressed his hope to return to Guadalajara one day.
González spoke with the media at the airport before departing, thanking the club and fans for their support. "I'm very grateful to the entire Chivas fan base for everything they've given me," he said. "I hope to return one day, and I'm very grateful to the entire staff, the board, and my teammates for everything they've done for me."
The forward also expressed his confidence in Chivas' ability to win the championship and secure the club's 13th star. "I'm very sure that soon, with God's help, the fans will give us the championship, and I have nothing but gratitude for Amaury," he said.
González's departure comes after he became one of the standout players for Chivas, earning the interest of European clubs. The forward's next destination will be Olympiacos, where he will continue to grow as a player.
The transfer deal between Chivas and Olympiacos was reportedly worth 12 million euros, with 10 million euros in fixed fees and 2 million euros in variable fees. Chivas will also retain a percentage of González's transfer fee, ensuring they will have a stake in his future.
