Argentinian coach Matías Almeyda has shown interest in signing Chivas defender Diego Campillo for his Rayados de Monterrey team. This summer transfer window, which remains open until the end of the Apertura 2026 season within the Liga MX, could see unexpected moves.

According to information from the Universal newspaper, Almeyda has expressed interest in Diego Campillo, a key player for the Rojiblanco team. This player has grown under Gabriel Milito's guidance since his return to Chivas and currently has no intention of being sold.

Diego Campillo, a 24-year-old central defender who can also play as a pivot, has caught attention from his loan spell with FC Juárez. At Chivas, he has a contract until December 2026 and is valued at approximately $6.3 million on Transfermarkt.

However, in Guadalajara, they have him appraised at a much higher valuation, meaning that for Liga MX clubs, Campillo would only be available for around $20 million. Although Chivas currently has no such offer or intention of selling him during the current transfer window, his situation could change in the coming days.
