Guadalajara Chivas has one of the most promising young players in the Rebaño, Hugo Camberos. Before joining Chivas' youth academy, Camberos had to make a name for himself in Autlán, Jalisco.
What happened?
His coach, Roberto Contreras, confirmed that Pachuca showed interest in signing the player when he was still a child.
Why did he reject the offer?
Camberos had always dreamed of playing for Chivas, so joining the team's youth academy was the path he chose.
What's next?
With 7 points from 4 games, Guadalajara Chivas is currently 9th in the Liga MX standings, 3 points behind leaders Club America, and will look to add more points in their next match against Club Tijuana on August 22. Camberos previously attended Chivas' franchise school in Autlán, where he spent approximately three years, between the ages of 9 and 11, before continuing his development with Guadalajara. According to his former coach, Camberos' skills from a young age explained why several teams began to take notice of him. He even considers Camberos to be the most outstanding player of his generation. Following a recent win over Santos Laguna on August 17, Guadalajara Chivas will look to maintain their momentum in the competition.
