With the installation of a monumental screen, entertainment zones for attendees and various road closures in the heart of the city, the FIFA Fan Festival of Guadalajara was inaugurated on Tuesday, a space that will serve as a meeting point for fans during the celebration of the World Cup. The opening was attended by state authorities, sports representatives and event organizers. Among the attendees were the governor of Jalisco, Pablo Lemus Navarro, and the owner of Chivas, Amaury Vergara, who coincided in highlighting the relevance of this space to project Guadalajara to the world. When asked about the characteristics of the festival and its impact on fans, Governor Pablo Lemus highlighted the magnitude of the installed infrastructure and free access to the public. “It's spectacular. On the other hand, during the inaugural ceremony, Amaury Vergara spoke about the emotion that represents for Guadalajara to become one of the World Cup host cities and recognized the joint effort made by different sectors to make the organization of the event possible. “Very excited, on the verge of tears of what is happening here in Guadalajara. Very proud of the work we have done in the city, in the stadium, in the government, with the volunteers and with the general population. Also, thank you very much to you for the coverage you are giving. We are ready, we are going to start this World Cup here in Guadalajara.
