Club Deportivo Guadalajara announced that Celeste Espino will not continue with Chivas Femenil. Although efforts were made to extend her contract and keep her with the team, the player decided to explore new opportunities. As a product of the Red-and-White Academy, the goalkeeper defended the Sacred Flock's net for seven years, consistently meeting the high standards and demands that come with representing such an important club. Across 14 tournaments, she made 74 appearances and maintained strong internal competition for the starting role. In addition, she was part of the squad that achieved the historic double in 2022 by winning the Clausura 2022 title and the Campeón de Campeones of the AP21-CL22 season. Her performances also earned her regular consideration for both the senior Mexican Women's National Team and youth national team call-ups. We thank Celeste Espino for her commitment, conviction, hard work, and love for the Chivas Femenil colors throughout her time at the club, and we wish her every success in the projects and challenges that lie ahead. The Sacred Flock's goalkeeper will have to find a new figure to cover the void left by Celeste Espino's departure.
